Chapter 13
Coming of Age. What exactly is it? For girls it could be coming of age when their periods start. For boys it would most certainly refer to when they discover the immense pleasure in jerking off. Girls become more inclined to pubic self-exploration once their monthly cycles achieve ovulation. For non-binaries, it’s a personal matter… as it is for anyone really. Overall, coming of age occurs when someone is no longer a kid and does whatever they want regardless of what their parents or caregivers or teachers say.
Some cultures, for instance, in Judaism there is the Bar or Bat Mitzvah for kids around 13 years old. There is also the fancy Quinceañera event for Latinas turning 15 all over the USA, the Caribbean and South America
Abby reached a coming-of-age experience when she suddenly remembered being molested by a seventeen-year-old man-boy when she was only 5 years old. She didn’t remember all the details quite yet, as the situation had been blocked from her consciousness by her Doppelgänger Guardian Angel, who has remained humbly nameless all these years.
But nothing could hold back the cravings for pleasure and discovery from the strong willed spicy redheaded Abby. Songs whirling through her heart, mind, soul, and clit came from her stereo. Wheels of Fire blues brought over from England only to be reintroduced as originating from old black guys from her own homeland.
As a matter of fact, Abby had started dancing all over the living room jumping from couch to chairs, bouncing incessantly to mono LPs from the Beatles, Herman’s Hermits, and the Rolling Stones when she was only 6 years old. They were her older sister’s records. The records were almost thrown out when Ramona had undergone her religious experience of being “Born Again”, but Abby begged to keep them. Over time she collected as many records as possible and listened to the FM radio all night long as well singing along and dreaming of her all-time faves year in and year out: David Bowie, the Velvet Underground, Traffic, Cream, Jefferson Airplane, Peter Green, and Fleetwood Mac…only to discover newer as well as older bands and solo artists throughout her life…Abby played guitar and sang as well.
At the age of 15, all of Abby’s desires and dreams were cornered, however. She still had parents, she still lived at home. Her older sister, Ramona, had even demanded Abby start going to a new church with her. Oh no, please! Not another Sunday School!
Yep, Abby was forced but she knew how to make something work in her favor. She dragged along her next-door neighbor best friend Claire every Sunday and the two managed to meet church boy’s their own age and skip Sunday School to go get stoned. Later Abby would just leave the church and hitchhike across town to see live rock and roll performances at the Overton Park Shell.
Ramona still insisting on religious martyrdom dragged Abby to a Born-Again church potluck dinner. Abby managed to sneak outside to view the moonlight and she soon saw she was followed by one of the evangelist guys.
“Hi Abby, enjoying the night sky?” said the evangelist.
“Yes.” Said Abby.
“Enjoying the Born-Again dinner and Bible study?”
“No.”
“You don’t believe in Jesus?”
Abby said nothing.
“What God do you believe in?”
Abby thought for a second.
“God is a woman working in a rice field.”
The evangelist looked a bit shocked but walked away leaving Abby alone to ponder the woman in a rice field.
“Good work, Abby” said Doppelgänger Guardian.
“I thought so…”
Excellent!
